I would like to introduce myself and share my story. I am a registered dental hygienist and a qualified fitness instructor. I created the LOOSE HANDs program after I saw how many dental professionals were struggling with their health!
Since I started working in dentistry I experienced PAIN
Since started working in dentistry (a loooong time ago) I started suffering from back pain almost immediately. Lower, middle, upper back, neck - you name it. I had it all!
I had to be really careful how and what I was doing in my day to day activities.
I see your PAIN!!
Welcome to My Blog dedicated to #dentalprofessionals - #dentists, #dentaltherapists, #dentalhygienists, #dentalnurses and #dentalassistants who are suffering from #muscularskeletalpain, #RSI from working in #dentistry.
Exercise
I didn't know what to do...... but then I discovered EXERCISE!
However, it was NOT a quick fix!! I had to do a regular exercise (at least 2 - 3 times a week) and then I started to see a difference after about 6 months!

PAIN FREE Dental Professionals
I thought: "THIS IS GREAT! I FEEL GREAT!"
I felt PAIN FREE for the first time!
Of course, sometimes life got in the way and I skipped the exercise now and again, but as the pain always crept in I came back to it. That's WHY I stuck to it.
After I exercised I felt GOOOD.
If I exercise I can do what I love (dental hygiene), PAIN FREE
This is what I want for YOU too!
Also, I started understand more about my body and what works and doesn't in a dental setting.

I came to understand that if I'm not cautious, my body will communicate with me through the indirect language of pain.
I began focusing on my posture, engaging in additional physical activity, integrating subtle exercises, stretching, practicing deep breathing, and taking care of both my body and mind. My goal is to achieve happiness while avoiding discomfort.
Being a dental professional, I believe that you strive to provide the highest level of care for your patients/clients. Yet, can you effectively deliver this care while dealing with your own pain?
